A Long History of Work

Waters & Bugbee, Inc. has worked closely with Verizon for over 40 years on projects of varying size and difficulty. Throughout this period of time, Verizon has been serviced with the highest level of attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction which is demonstrated by the relationship’s lengthy tenure.   

Waters & Bugbee’s project history with Verizon includes:
 

• plowing miles of underground cable in the 1960’s along many roadways throughout the state of New Jersey;
   
• placing miles of PVC duct runs; 
   
• installing hundreds of manholes, sac pads and fiberglass hand holes within New Jersey’s footprint;
   
• assisting in the maintenance of existing underground facilities for city streets and residential neighborhoods;
   
• demolishing and rebuilding many undersized or defective manholes;
• installing numerous Controlled Environmental Vaults (CEV’s) throughout New Jersey;
   
• providing miles of trench for Verizon employees to install cable and pedestals in various new developments during the 1980’s and 1990’s development boom;
   
• and rehabilitating many areas of defective underground cable in older developments.

Most significantly, Waters & Bugbee has demonstrated its ability to meet Verizon’s changing needs in delivering new communications technology.  Having participated in both the original Lonestar and Avis projects in New Jersey (pilot projects providing fiber optic cable to specific areas), and most recently through work on the FTTP project, Waters & Bugbee has met the challenges of installing inner duct product for the initial Fiber backbone as well as curb to house fiber optic cable.
